I am John Griffin — Griffin the Artist. I paint in watercolor, charcoal, oil, and acrylic. For more than twenty years I have made a living as a freelance artist: souvenir-shop work in Kissimmee, Florida; custom pieces for vendors, print shops, and offices; watercolor house portraits for realtors as closing gifts; charcoal drawings and oil paintings for clients who find me on Facebook, Instagram, and in the community. Commercial work taught me to finish, to make color that reads in a real room, and to respect the buyer.
The studio’s focus now is Strata Reveries — original watercolor abstracts built in layers. Strata is geologic time pressed together. Reverie is a drifting mind. The paintings live in that tension: quiet horizons, sudden pigment, edges that bloom and then hold. Each original is finished with my hand-pressed gold spiral seal. Collectors hang them in homes, restaurants, offices, and new builds.

I still take commissioned work. Charcoal portraits. Watercolors for realtors. Oil paintings from social media and local clients. If you have a wall, a house, or a face in mind, start with a call or a note: (610) 908-7033 · jgprops@outlook.com.

If you collect, take the original that keeps returning to you. The print is a way into the work. The painting is the work. If you paint, take what was useful here: stay fluent in more than one medium, treat commercial jobs as craft, and protect one series that is only yours.
